This summer has been a busy one for BMBA.
Our nomination for the battlefield to be added to the National Register of Historic Places has been turned in to the state Preservation Office. We are very hopeful that this time the battlefield will be accepted. Now we wait.

We have had 3 years of hard work, and the results are fantastic. For a few days after the Grand Opening I thought there would be nothing to do, but Man, was I wrong! We have begun working on plans for our 150th celebration and re-enactment, scheduled for October, of 2014, plus all of the daily and weekly things that will need to be done. It seems like someone has yelled the "Charge!!!" Since December, 2010, when the Three Ladies contacted John Stuckey, the previous president of the Friends group, we have not slowed down a bit. We now have a new slate of officers, a new Board of Trustees, and a new list of goals that everyone is working toward completing. We even had an article posted about us in the Civil War Picket.
